“Unless we put medical freedom into the Constitution, the time will come when medicine will organize into an undercover dictatorship. To restrict the art of healing to one class of men… will constitute the Bastille of medical science. All such laws are un-American and despotic.” – Dr. Benjamin Rush, signer of the Declaration of Independence
Everywhere you look in our literature and our application and in the novel Sanctuary: The Path to Consciousness, EMC² takes great care to ensure that you understand that as you participate in the Sacrament of Energetic Balancing you realize that our ministry is not about diagnosing, treating, curing or preventing disease. And the question always remains, how can many energetic imbalances have a name which is the same as or similar to the name of a disease and yet be similar in name only? After all, Shakespeare said that a rose by any other name still smells as sweet. And what about two different things that both go by the name “rose?” Is an energetic imbalance really the same as a disease or is there a difference between diseases and energetic imbalances?
The answer to that question is partly found on the second page of the Energetic Balancing Application Form where it says that “energetic imbalances are, by definition, spiritual.” This statement defines the boundary that separates energetic imbalances from diseases. The Application Form also says that the “techniques and devices used in the ministry of EMC² are not considered by any scientific or medical authority to have any scientific or medical value whatsoever.”
When you think about it, many cultures look at illness differently than the ruling medical oligarchy in America. Throughout history illness has mostly been thought of as a sign that an individual is having a spiritual issue. Sometimes that issue has been thought of as “sin” or “evil.” Other times, the concept of “spirit possession” arises. This is usually in combination with “evil” as in “possessed by evil spirits.” Modern science doesn’t believe that there is any reality to that belief.
Today, the official view of disease is that disease is caused by microscopic organisms collectively referred to as “germs.” This belief is sometimes called the “germ theory of disease.” The phrase “germ theory” is an honest one, because it admits the possibility that cause-and-effect is not a guaranteed relationship. After all, if germs are everywhere, then why do some people get sick and others remain unaffected?
Only a few hundred years ago, the concept of germs was unheard of. Antony van Leeuwenhoek, a Dutch tradesman without formal degrees or scientific credentials, was the first to observe “little animals,” i.e. bacteria and protozoa, under a microscope. He called them “animalcules.” At first, scientists of the day didn’t believe his reports because he had no credentials that made him credible. Eventually, his work was recognized and other “officially-recognized” scientists drew conclusions about the relationship between the presence of little animals van Leeuwenhoek observed and the presence of disease.
Even though slightly more than three centuries have passed since the first observation of bacteria, as we look at prevailing religious beliefs throughout the world, we find that the belief that illness is a sign of spiritual malaise is still the most common thought. This is true for so-called primitive people living in the remote jungles of the upper Amazon and it’s true for many Americans who belong to churches which believe that disease is best cured by prayer. Many educated people in the United States who believe in germ theory also believe that the germs are a scourge sent by God to punish those who have displeased God. Thus the spiritual connection to disease remains.
As you think about these ideas, it becomes easier to see that the concept of “disease” as understood by modern science is something that has been set into law and practice. These laws and practices are completely immersed in the idea of germ theory and reject all other explanations.
Realizing that disease is defined in particular ways by the legal and scientific authorities of our culture makes it easy to see why EMC² says that it doesn’t diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease. It’s quite simple: EMC² does not engage in any practices that are sanctioned by the legal and scientific authorities as legitimate means of identifying diseases. EMC² cannot possibly claim that energetic imbalances are the same as diseases because it does not use techniques recognized by those authorities to identify diseases. The techniques and devices used by EMC² have been revealed to us as spiritual technologies, to be used in pursuit of spiritual healing.
EMC² uses the QED, or Quantum-Consciousness Evaluation Device, to calibrate values for subtle spiritual vibrations. These calibrations are used to determine the balancing energies needed for the Sacrament of Energetic Balancing.
And why do many energetic imbalances have names which are the same as or similar to the names of diseases? Because the subtle spiritual vibrations which are calibrated by the QED as we identify energetic imbalances have the same values that we find when we perform QED evaluations to calibrate the subtle spiritual vibrations emanated by “diseases.”
Even though the QED produces these results, EMC² cannot claim that energetic imbalances are the same as diseases, even when they have the same names. The first reason this is so is because the QED and the techniques associated with its use are not considered by any scientific or medical authority to have any validity whatsoever nor are they considered to have any relevance to modern health care. According to the laws and practices allowed by our society, disease can only be identified and dealt with using specific techniques, devices and medicines. EMC² does not use those techniques, devices or medicines. Further, it does not claim that its techniques and devices are doing the same thing as the officially sanctioned medical practices.
There is another reason that EMC² does not identify, treat, cure or prevent disease. Recently, I wrote an article titled “Science: Religion in Sheep’s Clothing” for the EMC² newsletter. It illustrates the idea that science itself is a religious viewpoint. As soon as you realize that science is based on faith and is a religious viewpoint, it is very easy to see that the ministry of EMC² and the scientific authorities have two different religious views. Nobody would ask that a Zoroastrian justify their religious views to the satisfaction of someone who believes in Buddha. Similarly, energetic balancing is a spiritual practice. It is only natural that non-believers would not believe in it. And those who know the benefits of the Sacrament of Energetic Balancing understand that it truly is a miracle that brings well-being, higher Life Force and higher consciousness.
This does not mean that your diseases cannot be affected by the Sacrament of Energetic Balancing. First, we believe that spiritual forces are at the root of all physical manifestations in our lives. As a spiritual process, the Sacrament of Energetic Balancing is affecting us at the most fundamental level. Additionally, as divine beings each of us is all-powerful and is capable of healing ourselves of anything. Thus, we are capable of healing ourselves at any level, even at the level of disease. And it is important to remember that, even as we are receiving the Sacrament of Energetic Balancing, we heal ourselves. The Sacrament of Energetic Balancing is a tool for our consciousness to perform any healing work we need.
Medical researchers believe that they have proved the efficacy of prayer for curing disease. Notably, a number of such studies have been collected by Dr. Larry Dossey who has published these results widely. The Sacrament of Energetic Balancing is a form of prayer, using the ancient principles the prayer wheel translated to digital technology and employing specific encodings of balancing energies using techniques revealed to Stephen Lewis.
Healing is always a spiritual matter. Treating disease is the realm of doctors. The Sacrament of Energetic Balancing is a spiritual technique for removing imbalances which lower our Life Force and prevent us from achieving higher consciousness. Achieving higher consciousness is the goal of all life.
And remember, EMC² believes in your own divine ability to determine what is best for you. Whether you choose to see a doctor to deal with disease is a personal decision between you and your licensed healthcare practitioner. The Sacrament of Energetic Balancing is a spiritual practice and is not considered to be a substitute for medical care for those who wish to receive medical care.
